This contest is easy if you’re a blogger or a webmaster, a little harder harder if you’re not as experienced in “web world.”

All you need to do in order to enter this contest, is to post a link to this blog from another website. On July 30th, at 1:00 pm CST, the winner will be the person whose link shows up the highest in Yahoo’s Site Explorer Inlinks for this site.

Yahoo! Site Explorer Example:
http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http%3A%2F%2Fneworleansinternetmarketing.com&bwm=i&bwms=p&bwmf=u&fr=yfp-t-501&fr2=seo-rd-se

You don’t generally have to do anything to get your link to show up in Site Explorer. If your site is indexed by Yahoo!, the link will be included next time your pages get crawled. The winner will have to be a contest entrant, sites that link here for other reasons don’t count (like my own sites, or any paid advertising I do).

The link can be from anywhere on the web, including free sites, like MySpace.com, or article posting sites like Squidoo.com or ezinearticles.com. Although any text can be used for the link, a hint is that more relevant and popular pages usually show up higher in Yahoo’s Site Explorer Inlinks.

If you’re not sure how to make a link, here’s some help:
Site URL: http://neworleansinternetmarketing.com

HTML Code to use:
New Orleans Internet Marketing

The winner needs to have a way for me to know who they are!!! In other words, I have to be able to contact them through the web page with the link. If it’s a one-person blog, that should be pretty easy to figure out, but keep that in mind when you make your link – leave your email address if you’re not sure.

The reason this contest is so long is to give people time to get their links up and indexed by Yahoo! I may come up with another contest in the interim, so keep checking back.

This contest will be easier for people from SE Louisiana, although contests in the future will be easier to answer for a wider range of audience.

Many people have asked what the picture at the top of this website is from, where it was taken, etc… I was actually fishing (hint) at the time. It’s the same picture I used on my older hartwell.tv blog.

The picture was taken somewhere in SE Louisiana at sunset.

I want to know what historic structure is in the bottom left of the picture.
If you can answer that, you will win a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com.

Answers will only be accepted through the comments on the bottom of this web page. Don’t forget to leave your contact info! Good Luck!
